Grameenphone Launches Unlimited Internet Service
Grameenphone has introduced "Limitless Internet," an innovative service that offers high-speed and maximum-speed internet, marking the first-ever introduction of Infinity Internet in Bangladesh and South Asia. Customers can now enjoy 10 Mbps internet for BDT 899 and 15 Mbps for BDT 998. This service is available not only on mobile devices but also via GP-Fi.
The service was officially announced on Tuesday evening during an event at a hotel in Dhaka.
At the beginning of the event, Grameenphone’s Managing Director Yasir Azman highlighted stories of individuals such as freelancer Trishna De, Puja, and Dayal Chandra Barman, who have utilized the power of the internet to transform their lives and surroundings. He shared his experiences of traveling through 44 districts across rural areas of Bangladesh and witnessing numerous stories full of potential.
Azman emphasized that the transformation Bangladesh is undergoing is a testament to the power of its youth. With 58% of the population under the age of 26, young people are earning BDT 300,000 every day by contributing positively to society. He further noted that, given the right opportunities, Bangladesh’s six million freelancers could increase tenfold in number.
Sajjad Hasib, Chief Marketing Officer of Grameenphone, outlined the company's network coverage, innovative services, and the illumination of 2.5 million customers through internet connectivity. He claimed that 99% of services are provided through the MyGP platform, with 95% of customer issues being resolved on the same day. Training is provided through 278 GP Centers, and engineers are always on hand to address issues raised via Facebook, the app, or calls. However, Hasib admitted, "We are not perfect, nor are we the best."
This new service is expected to boost internet accessibility and empower even more people to take advantage of the digital economy in Bangladesh.
